World of Hyatt members can use these points can then be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including free nights, room upgrades, and more.
World of Hyatt Membership Tiers:
World of Hyatt offers three membership tiers, each offering a unique set of privileges:
Discoverist: The entry-level tier, offers members benefits such as complimentary premium internet, late checkout, and a dedicated customer service line.
Explorist: Members at this tier enjoy all the benefits of Discoverist, plus additional perks like room upgrades and bonus points
Globalist: The highest tier. Globalists receive all the benefits of Discoverist and Explorist, along with added privileges such as suite upgrades and Club Lounge Access on eligible stays or free breakfast at Hyatt hotels without a Club Lounge
To earn the different tier memberships:
Hyatt Discoverist: 10 nights or 25,000 base points
Explorist: 30 nights or 50,000 base points
Globalist: 60 nights or 100,000 base points
Earning World of Hyatt Points:
Accruing points within the Hyatt Rewards Program is a straightforward process. Chase offers 2 Hyatt co-branded credit cards. One is the Chase World of Hyatt Credit card and the other is the World of Hyatt business credit card. Currently, the World of Hyatt card is offering a signup bonus of up to 65,000 points, in addition to points earned on spending. The card has a bonus category of 2 points per dollar on Dining and Travel. The card also gives 1 free night every year at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel or resort every year after your cardmember anniversary. A second Category 1-4 free night award can be earned after spending $15,000 in a calendar year on the card. Free night certificates are worth much more than the annual fee on this card. This is well worth the $95 annual fee. The World of Hyatt Credit Card comes with automatic Discoverist status. The credit card gives you five qualifying nights annually. Also, cardholders earn two elite night credits for every $5,000 spent on the card. This may allow some to earn Exportist or Globalist faster. Hyatt credit cards are one of the best ways to get award stays at Hyatt Hotels. You can quickly earn award nights by pairing your everyday expenses, the World of Hyatt credit card, and the World of Hyatt loyalty program. If you are a business owner, the World of Hyatt business card offers a similar welcome bonus to the personal card. However, if you sign up for both cards you will have enough points for several nights at an upscale Hyatt hotel such as the Park Hyatt or all inclusive properties such as Hyatt Ziva.
We recently stayed at the Hyatt Andaz West Hollywood, on our trip to California. Having a Chase World of Hyatt credit card proved advantageous, providing an annual free night in a category 1-4 hotel and an additional free night for spending $15,000 annually. With a 65,000 sign-up bonus, we used the points for a 3-night stay at the Hyatt Andaz West Hollywood (total Hyatt points was 60,000 for our stay). A 3 night stay at the Andaz West Hollywood in the begining of November is around $977.
Redeeming World of Hyatt Rewards:
Hyatt has several different brands in its portfolio. Brands include Hyatt Place, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt
Centric, Grand Hyatt and Hyatt House. Members can use their points for free hotel stays at Hyatt properties and room upgrades. Keep in mind, that with Hyatt, booking with points at popular locations has to be booked ahead of time. This is where Hyatt varies from Hilton and Marriott, with Hyatt some properties require advanced planning. Another way to get Hyatt points for redemption is to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to your World of Hyatt account. If you have a Chase general travel rewards card, you can transfer points to your Hyatt account to redeem rewards for a Hyatt property. This is also a good option if you need a few additional points in your Hyatt account to make a redemption.
